Wavering wood, whirling metal (2009)

The various sounds of wood and metal was the inspiration for composing this piece. The melodies looped throughout the piece has a scent of deformed lullabies. The melodies can be heard in the harp, in the percussion and in the two deconstructed music boxes.

Wavering wood, whirling metal (2009) is a piece for harp, percussion and two prepared music boxes. It was composed for Icelandic Duo Harpverk (Katie Buckley, harp and Frank Aarnink, percussion) in 2009. The various sounds of wood and metal was the inspiration for composing this piece. The melodies looped throughout the piece has a scent of deformed lullabies.
